Cobalt has advised Electrolux on internal investigations into alleged misconduct by former executive Martin Kirsberg, which later formed the basis for the criminal case.

"According to the charges, between 2012 and 2020, Martin Kirsberg, together with third parties, embezzled Electrolux’s assets by granting unlawful bonuses to himself and others and by submitting fictitious invoices," Cobalt informed. "The criminal proceedings began following Electrolux's criminal report as a result of internal investigations."

According to Cobalt, the court imposed a suspended sentence with a three-year probation period and ordered Martin Kirsberg to compensate Electrolux for damages and late-payment interest, exceeding EUR 500,000 in total.

The Cobalt team included Partner Lembit Tedder and Associate Saara Maria Puur.
