Greenberg Traurig has advised American Heart of Poland Group on EUR 200 million second-lien financing from CVC Credit Funds, arranged alongside the group’s existing senior syndicated facility of approximately PLN 1.9 billion. Linklaters and Allen Overy Shearman Sterling reportedly advised on the transaction as well.

The American Heart of Poland Group, established in 2000, is the largest private operator of healthcare services in Poland serving over 600,000 publicly funded patients annually. The Group is part of Gruppo San Donato, which is one of the largest Italian medical groups, running, among others, research institutes, diagnostic centers, hospitals, and the Vita Salute San Raffaele Medical University in Milan.

CVC Credit is the credit management business of CVC.

According to Greenberg Traurig, this is the first private debt financing in Poland structured on a second-lien basis and the inaugural CVC Credit Funds transaction in the Polish market. The financing will support AHP Group’s ongoing modernization of public hospitals and the delivery of high-quality cardiology and general medical services to local communities. The base facility of EUR 200 million can be upsized by an additional EUR 30 million tranche.

The Greenberg Traurig team included Partner Piotr Nerwinski, Local Partner Maciej Kacymirow, Counsel Pawel Dlugoborski, Senior Associate Jakub Walawski, and Junior Associates Weronika Lakoma and Weronika Kopec as well as further lawyers in London.
