On February 8, 2026, CMS announced that Axpo Polska's acquisition of Polenergia's CHP asset in Nowa Sarzyna (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on December 22, 2025) has now closed.
According to CMS, the transaction expands and diversifies Axpo’s portfolio in Poland and forms part of the company’s continued investments in strategic energy assets across Europe.
As previously reported, CMS has advised Axpo Polska on the acquisition of Polenergia Elektrocieplownia Nowa Sarzyna from Polenergia.
According to CMS, the transaction involved the acquisition of a combined heat and power plant located in Nowa Sarzyna. The asset strengthens Axpo Polska’s energy portfolio by providing a flexible generation source supporting renewable energy integration and enhancing security of supply in the Polish market.
