Schoenherr has advised Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari on its acquisition of Campion Broker from Campion Grup. Draghiceanu, Bolca and Associates and Toacse, Iavolschi and Associates reportedly advised Campion Grup.
The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval.
According to Schoenherr, the deal marks a first for the Romanian insurance market, as it is the first instance of an insurance company acquiring a major insurance broker.
Moreover, according to Schoenherr, Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari is Romania’s second-largest insurance company and part of the global Allianz Group, offering general and life insurance and private pension products. The transaction further strengthens the company’s long-standing cooperation with Campion Broker and creates new development opportunities for both entities. Founded in 2007, Campion Broker ranks seventh among brokerage firms in Romania and operates a nationwide network of roughly 2,000 brokerage assistants.
