Partner and Head of the Energy and Infrastructure practice Vit Stehlik has been promoted to Executive Partner at White & Case in Prague, as of January 1, 2021, replacing Partner and Head of the firm's CEE Real Estate practice Petr Panek. Panek will be in charge of developing White & Case’s operations in eleven SEE countries as the firm's new SEE Country Practice Head.

Even though situated at the outskirts of the EU, Poland undoubtedly serves as one of the main pathways into the Union’s affluent west. The importance of its infrastructure is reflected in its prioritized investment position. Looking at investments made by the European Investment Bank alone, one could see that out of the EUR 79.8 billion invested in the country since 1990, about 47% went to infrastructure.

In 2020, Ukraine’s government awarded the first two concessions in the history of Ukraine – 35-year concessions of the assets of Kherson and Olvia, two significant ports on the Black Sea. Building on this success, in October 2020, the government made a media splash by releasing a roadmap for further public private partnership (PPP) projects and held various promotion events since then.
