Sorainen has advised Estonian defence-technology startup Wayren on a EUR 7.9 million investment from the EFA Group. TGS Baltic advised the EFA Group.

The EFA Group is a defense industry consortium.

According to Sorainen, the funding will enable Wayren to refine its Singularity communication platform, a patented system that guarantees delivery of critical data even in heavily disrupted, low-bandwidth, or unstable network environments, and to prepare for large-scale production and deployment. Wayren’s platform has already been piloted with the Estonian Defence League and is undergoing field trials with both the Estonian Defence Forces and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As part of the partnership, EFA Group’s integration specialist SCYTALYS will collaborate closely with Wayren to embed the technology into mission-critical software and systems.

The Sorainen team included Partners Mirell Prosa and Mihkel Miidla, Counsels Piibe Lehtsaar and Robin Teever, Senior Associate Oliver Kuusk, and Associate Kadri Puu.

The TGS Baltic team included Partner Kadri Kallas, Counsels Mirko Kikkamagi, Silvia Urgas, and Mari Anne Rohtla, Associate Joonas Kartsep, and Lawyer Hannamari Bachmann.
